This report gives guidance on the uncertainties that can influence each and every measurement, how these can be assessed on site and what actions can be taken to mitigate their effects.
Guidance on the testing of both new installations and carrying out checks on existing lighting installations across the network is given. Details on the competency of those undertaking the measurements is given, with particular emphasis on the use of the correct type of photometer, determination and setting out of the grid and carrying out the actual measurements with a high degree of confidence that a consistent approach has been used.
Lighting design programmes are able to provide extracts from their design outputs that can be taken to site to verify design outputs.
